We are thrilled to announce that Carpathian Single Malt Whiskies have been awarded three gold medals at the Beverage Testing Institute Awards 2023 in the US. Carpathian Amarone Cask-Finished Single Malt, Madeira Cask-Finished Single Malt and Fetească Neagră Cask-Finished Single Malt were all awarded gold medals at the awards. All of the Carpathian whiskies that received awards are 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, single cask finishes.
All three expressions were awarded 93 points and received excellent feedback from the judges.
The judges praised Carpathian Fetească Neagră Cask-Finished Single Malt Whisky for its notes of “fruit, chocolate and nuts on top of the sweet grain” that “make this an incredibly pleasing style of whisky."
The judges also said that Carpathian Amarone Cask-Finished Single Malt Whisky “smells and tastes remarkably like a good Highland malt; very tasty and well executed.”
Carpathian Madeira Cask-Finished Single Malt Whisky rounded of the excellent reviews with its notes of “chocolate, roasted nuts and dried red fruits.” The judges also remarked that it is “just delightful and will complement a cigar quite well."
Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) was founded in 1981 as the first international wine competition in the United States. Using industry-leading methodology co-developed by founders Craig Goldwen and Dr Harry Lawless of Cornell University and a one-of-a-kind approach to trade focus groups and sensory panelist recruitment, BTI’s evaluations are so much more than a competition. Beverage Testing Institute has become the most comprehensive and reliable source for alcohol beverage product testing and professional reviews in the world.
